Add SelectSublayers to SelectLayer dialog box

Would it be possible to add a "SelectSublayers" check box to the dialog box of SelectLayer? So that instead of having to expand the parent layer(s) and shift-click the sub-layers, the command would automatically select all objects on both parent and sub-layers.
