EDIT: The hole in the line apparently happens because in my original file, this geometry is co-planar with another surface, which apparently affects Make2D even with the “Hidden lines” option checked.
EDIT 2: DWG export is better, but exports iso curves for some ungodly reason.

UPDATE: BTW, this (not being a nested block structure) breaks one of my workflows, as I was using the nested block structure to create my layers structure in order to keep parent-child relationships coming from CATIA.

I can change it to black in properties for that one session, but not to open black all the time. I switched the color to black in Options>View>Display modes>Ghosted( and the other display modes)>Mesh>change from use “Objects color” to Black, but that doesn’t seem to work. It did in Windows 7
