Hi guys,
Do you know how can I get the block instance current Rotation ?.
Is it possible through the block instance Xform?. I have tried to use the blockinstanceXForm and it returned to me a Transformation Matrix 4X4.How can I use that to get the current Rotation relative to the initial Rotation ?
Any Ideas pleas ?

Hello, I’m trying to start Rhino inside Revit but end up with the following error
“Rhino license manager initialization failed wit error -200. Rhino will not run” and the Revit session crashes. Starting Rhino WIP by itself works just fine. We’ve got licensing via Clod Zoo and Azure authorization, might that be a cause for this error?

Anyone know why this horrible thing happened?
Here’s the geometry from which this was created:
d.3dm (138.8 KB)
EDIT: The hole in the line apparently happens because in my original file, this geometry is co-planar with another surface, which apparently affects Make2D even with the “Hidden lines” option checked.
EDIT 2: DWG export is better, but exports iso curves for some ungodly reason.

@John_Brock,
I noticed that STEP doesn’t import as nested blocks anymore. Not even having nested layer structure (as discussed / proposed with @brian ) Not even being an option. Any other unpleasant surprises?
UPDATE: BTW, this (not being a nested block structure) breaks one of my workflows, as I was using the nested block structure to create my layers structure in order to keep parent-child relationships coming from CATIA.

Is this possible in any way? Perhaps some kind of fudge with a material that references the original emap and a specific display mode? Although I guess the point of eMap is that it generates a custom mesh too for while it’s running.

It’s been some time that i noticed this…
While mouse cursor is still, the 3d-mouse works as intended.
But while you move the cursor over the viewport the rotation is not displayed; the camera is moving but the update will occur only after mouse stop moving.
If the mouse is moving, viewport is not updated at all.
(I wanted to post a .gif of the problem but with the screen-recorder active the problem doesn’t occur…
)
Anybody else have the same situation?
Any fix for this?

I just updated from Windows 7 to 10. In 7 when I double clicked on an .stl file it would open in Rhino in black (which is easier to see density then in white). I can change it to black in properties for that one session, but not to open black all the time. I switched the color to black in Options>View>Display modes>Ghosted( and the other display modes)>Mesh>change from use “Objects color” to Black, but that doesn’t seem to work. It did in Windows 7

I’m working on creating a set of working drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details) from a model I’ve developed in Rhino. I’ve created multiple layouts and in those layouts, I use views and generate my given view using clipping plans within the model. I have 15 layouts (sheets) and I don’t even know where to begin with regards to the problems, but to list a few:
dim* ensions suddenly quit working
- hidden detail layers turn on and I have to go through all the detail views (like 30) and turn them off again EACH TIME I start the program. This one alone may drive me to jump off the tallest building I can find.
- arctic views suddenly turn to simple lines when trying to print (random)
- make2d working only when it feels like
- hideindetail only working when it feels like
I can probably go on but I’ve been at this drawing for 12 hours and can’t stand this anymore.
Can someone relate? Any solutions other than to use RHino as a 2d program??? I really like the 3d capabilities but come on…

I have keyboard Shortcuts for going to wireframe/shaded mode as F1 and F2. Sometimes, ctrl+z for undo undoes the display mode change. But sometimes it doesn’t as well. I’m trying to replicate it now but can’t.
Does anybody else have experience of this? I swear undo has undone my display mode changes before. How annoying that it chooses to behave perfectly now…

Hi,
I am wondering if there is a possibility to turn off the current behavior that the text input is loosing focus whenever the cursor is moved away from the window one is typing in?
For example, I am using a pen input drawing board, and when I place the pen down to type with two hands, it is hardly possible to keep the cursor over the input-window. It requires a great deal of attention and messes up my workflow a lot… often I type, then realizing everything has gone to the command line instead.
I would prefer to simply click in the viewport in order to make the command pick up keyboard input again.
is that possible? could it be an option?
thank you,
Daniel

Hi,
Shouldn’t I use the edges of extruded surfaces in Rhino6 NetworkSrf?
In the following situations…
I want to adjust a new surface with side frame curves after NetwarkSrf…
therefore I had used NetworkSrf on Rhino 4.
but, the history of NetworkSrf on Rhino 6 sometimes don’t works same situation.
History works fine when I use NetworkSrf after trimming the extruded surface.
It is a pain in the neck.
best.
