Is there a way to lock the height and tilt of the camera? I want to move thru a room without the height changing or the camera tilting but want to look left and right? I’m probably doing it wrong.

Material thumbnails gone. Windows or Rhino problem?
I don’t often use materials so I just noticed this today when trying to apply a chrome to an object. First, none of the thumbnails are showing up like they used to. Secondly, render mode and ray traced give me the image.

Clipping plane fill but lost clipping plane edge WIP
Hi,
I am using @Gijs bitmap hatch tile texture on my Arctic detail on R7 layout. (OG post: Clipping Plane Fills! Please) For some reason, this method overrides the Clipping Plane cutting edge in WIP. No matter how much thickness I set it doesn’t show. In the model space is perfectly fine showing both the fill and CP section edge. Does anyone having the same problem?

Cycles is not rendering
Hi everyone,
When I switch to raytraced view it says “rendering” at the bottom of viewport but nothing happens.
Normally it should be slowly making the rendered image clear. All it does is show me the regular rendered viewport.
This only happens in my workstation. In my personal laptop raytraced viewport works just fine.

Unroll or smash?
i am helping a friend with small WingFoil project… model created and then using the unroll command to create a flat surface for template to cut material …
2 questions please.
- should I use unroll or smash?
- is it possible to mark a line on the unrolled surface so we can see where joins are? (see yellow line)

Tangent to Surface Edge
When I try to create a surface from a network of curves using a surface edge (to create a surface tangent to the adjacent surface) the program will only allow me to select sections of the surface edge.
If I select all the curves and surface edges the command does not do anything.
I was just wondering if anyone might know the cause of these issues and some possible solutions please.

Rhino 7 Beta with Wine on Linux (again)
Again a Linuxtopic sorry about this.
First of all i know there will be no support for linux and im completly fine with this.
I can succesfull run rhino6 and rhino7WIP with wine-stagging 5.8 and 5.18 and a Cloud-Lizence.
Not working are:
- Cuda
- Grasshoper
- Autoupdate (no connection to server)
But since the last update from rhino7 to becoming a BETA i get this error:

How to kill your project file? (Dangerous Bug!)
I started a new Rhino session, selected my project file from the welcome window and got the question “Do you want to save Untiteled?”. OK, no problem, why not and I pressed yes. The command tell me "File successfully saved as D:…\ProjectFile.3dm. Wow, 1,5GB project file is overwritten with an empty Rhino file.
I’m glad that I tried to open an older incremental saved file only. It’s not really needed. But this is really dangerous. Please fix it so fast as possible.

History Locked Object
I was trying to edit a dimension and kept getting this “Unable to transform 1 history locked object.”
AS far as I can tell no objects are locked. I’ve never seen this warning before. What’s going on?

TwinMotion - Should I use Unlink at some point? And if so, how?
Ok, so scenario:
I have most of my geo in my sync’d TM file *I’ve gone through and changed my materials in TM and it looks great.
Now, I realize I had a Rhino layer off when I sync’d it up, and I’d like to update the TM file with that layer that’s now turned on in Rhino. BUT I don’t want the rest of the materials, etc, to get messed up in TM (which they do, if I just click the little Sync “eye” icon in the TM toolbar)
Should I be using “Unlink” in the TM window? And if so, what’s the correct process? I can’t seem to get it right. I just keep messing up my TM file.
BONUS Q: What if I want to add extra geo? Same Q for this.

Edit: I found a sort of workaround, in exporting the additional geo as fbx and then importing that into TM. But I don’t want to have to do that each and every time I change or add something. I’m assuming I’m just missing some understanding of this plugin

Begining learner
I am new to 3d cadd progams. I am 74 years old and have numerous health problem, I used to be very good with AUTO CAD 2002BUT HAVE BEEN AWAY FROM IT FOR ABOUT 14 YEARS. Need to find some VERY basic instructions to start with, For example: draw a die(signalury of dice) and put the on the 6 sides.

Filetype to export curves for FEA?
I need to export a set of curves to be run through Finite Element Analysis.
(and I do not know which software will be used for the FEA).
I previously exported a DXF, but resulted in a mess of unusable lines

In shaded mode I have set locked objects to display a certain color. When I lock a layer, only some layers respond by changing objects on the layer to the locked color. Is there a setting I’m missing? All objects are set to display by layer.
